DR. Keely Hoban
Dr. Keely Hoban was born and raised in Montana and has called Oregon home for many years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from the College of Saint Benedict in Saint Joseph, Minnesota, before moving west to attend Pacific University, where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree. After graduating with distinction in 2011, Dr. Hoban completed a residency at the Portland VA Medical Center, where she gained additional experience in primary eye care, ocular disease, and low vision. That time helped shape the well-rounded approach she brings to her patients today. Dr. Hoban enjoys getting to know the people she cares for and values the relationships that develop over time. She strives to make visits feel comfortable and approachable while helping patients feel confident about their eye health and vision. Outside of the office, Dr. Hoban lives in Tualatin with her family. She enjoys golfing, hiking, playing tennis, spending time with family and friends, and making the most of life in the Pacific Northwest.
DR. Jonathän Blōemers
Dr. Jonathän Blōemers, originally from the Midwest, has called Portland home for the past decade. He earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University before gaining several years of hands-on experience in a small-town optometric clinic. That early exposure to patient care helped shape his thoughtful, approachable style and his belief in taking the time to understand each patient’s individual needs. Dr. Blōemers moved to Oregon to attend Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove. While in school, he also worked in the university’s optical department, helping patients select eyewear and navigate lens options and ordering. His clinical training included experience at the Portland VA, Chemawa Indian Health Services in Salem, and a private practice in Clackamas County, giving him the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients and eye care needs. Dr. Blōemers enjoys getting to know his patients and strives to make every visit comfortable, informative, and personalized. Outside of the office, he enjoys cycling, climbing, and exploring the Pacific Northwest. He also shares his adventures with his three energetic dogs, who do their best to keep him just as active at home.
DR. LINDY THOMAS
Dr. Lindy Thomas was born in Oregon and raised in Alaska. She received her undergraduate degree from Pacific University and then completed her Doctorate of Optometry from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1998. After graduation she practiced for ten years in Las Vegas, Nevada where she was a partner in a private practice that combined both Ophthalmology and Optometry. She and her husband relocated back to Oregon in 2008.
Dr. Thomas enjoys working with patients to get to know them personally to achieve their ideal vision and maintain ocular health. She is proficient in full scope primary care optometry, soft contact lenses and the co-management of Lasik and cataract surgery, in addition to ocular disease.
DR. HEIDI BOERSMA
Dr. Heidi Boersma is an Oregon native and has been a familiar and trusted presence at Eyes! On Broadway for more than 25 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon before attending Pacific University College of Optometry, where she supported herself by working as a dispensing optician.
That hands-on experience gave Dr. Boersma an early understanding of both the clinical and optical sides of patient care. Working alongside doctors and experienced coworkers helped her develop the practical, well-rounded approach she continues to bring to her patients today.
Over the years, Dr. Boersma has built lasting relationships with generations of patients. Many have been seeing her for years and appreciate the warmth, familiarity, and personal attention she brings to every visit. Her areas of experience include comprehensive primary eye care, contact lenses, ocular disease management, and pre- and post-operative LASIK care.
DR. ALEXA THAVORN
Dr. Alexa Thavorn was born and raised in Southern California and made her way to the Pacific Northwest in 2016. She has happily called Oregon home ever since. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Health Science from California State University, Long Beach, before attending Pacific University College of Optometry.
After graduation, Dr. Thavorn completed clinical rotations in a variety of settings, including a combined ophthalmology and optometry practice, an active-duty naval clinic in Oak Harbor, the Portland VA, and a private family practice in Grants Pass. Before optometry school, she also spent five years working as an optician, giving her a solid foundation in both eyewear and patient care.
Dr. Thavorn has now been part of the Eyes! On Broadway team for several years and enjoys the relationships she has built with her patients and the community. She loves getting to know the people she cares for and brings an approachable, personal style to each visit.
Outside of the office, Dr. Thavorn enjoys catching up with friends and family, tennis, hiking, and the occasional adventure. She especially loves cooking, trying new foods, and exploring Portland’s restaurant scene — so if you happen to spot her out and about, don’t be shy about saying hello!
