Ring in 2019 in Portland, New Years Eve!

There are many fun ways to celebrate New Years Eve in and around Portland this year. So, if you don’t already have some solid and excellent plans, have a look below for an option or two. Me? I’ll be up at Timberline Lodge, skiing all-night and watching the fireworks (Option #3 below). But if snow is not your gig, or if you’d rather be partying city-side, there are many ways to ring in 2019.

Governor’s Ball

This annual music event has traditionally featured talented rock and blues acts in an upscale atmosphere. This year doesn’t dissapoint with blue stalwarts Patrick Lamb and Curtis Salgado taking the stage while you enjoy a 3-course dinner.

Champagne Ball

Possibly the biggest party on New Years will be the giant Champagne Ball. Having run now for 27 years straight, this all night party will see three DJs, 18 bars, food galore, party favors, four themed party rooms, three dance floors and…well…more.

Bollywood Dance Party

Sounds wild and crazy indeed. So, if you want to get your Bollywood on, well, look no further. DJ Anjali & The Incredible Kid are returning, bringing an awesome display of international music to get you grooving. From Bollywood dance music to cumbias (via Orquestro Pacifico Tropical) and Savila.

Timberline Skiing, Dinner and Fireworks

Enjoy the slopes of Timberline until midnight and enjoy fireworks and a splendid, multi-course New Year's Eve dinner. I just can’t find any issues in this plan (and that’s why it’s my plan!).
Timberline: 6 p.m. through midnight at Timberline Lodge; $25 to $130 per person Contact the lodge for lodging and/or dinner reservations. Lift tickets can be bought day of for the midnight riding.
