Talking Fried Chicken in 'The Couv'
O.K. So we mostly write about all the fun and cool stuff around Portland on this blog. That said, Vancouver, otherwise known as “The Couv” should be considered part of this mix as many who work in Portland, live in The Couv, and visa versa. So now with Vancouver qualified, let’s talk about the best fried chicken I’ve ever tasted…region wide! I mean the last time I had fried chicken (almost) this good it was down in San Carlos, California (of all places) at a restaurant called “The Office.” Hands down the best I’d experienced…until (drum roll)…Amaro’s Table on Main Street in Downtown Vancouver. Unreal. instantly legendary. Record breaking.
I had driven by Amaro’s table a few times when in The Couv. Not yet well known for its culinary offerings, The Couv is, indeed, getting better. In fact, with so many options on the south side of the Columbia, some great chefs have indeed begun to migrate north. Vancouver is oh so lucky. Amaro’s table is no exception to this trend and simply stuns with its daily rissoto and, yes, it’s truly incredible fried chicken.
I know I index pretty high on loving food, and that I write about good finds a fair bit on this blog. And yes, sometimes I just feel so inspired by a great new tasty discovery. That’s the case here…but you be the judge. Try to make a trip to Couv and check out Amaro’s Table. Perhaps you already live up there? If so, chances are you’ve made this discovery already. The word on 5-star fried chicken does travel fast…
