The Lighting of Maddax Woods

Well we have already been seeing a lot of holiday stuff hitting the shelves and store windows these days. Heck, some even have lights up on their houses (talk about being on top of it)! In any case, this really is a magical time of year and there’s few things more festive than holiday lighting ceremonies and beautifully-lit gardens! So….here’s one such cool location that is sure to get your holiday vibe going (if it isn’t already): The Lighting of Maddax Woods.

If you’re like me, you haven’t heard of Maddax Woods before today, that is, unless you live a bit south of PDX in West Linn. A gorgeous, 7-acre park that pushes up against the Willamette River, this spot comes alive with holiday lights in grand fashion. While not quite the gigantic display seen at The Grotto’s Festival of Lights, kind of PDX’s quality standard, this park display is more quaint and thoroughly accessible. No hiking for 10+ minutes in possible rain (done that at The Grotto a few times ;).

Details on Maddax Woods

Beginning on November 17, 2018 at 4 p.m., and repeating every day thereafter through Dec 31, 2018, the lights will be on at Maddax Woods until 9 p.m. each night. Plenty of trails and picnic tables abound…along with over 45 lit-up animal cutouts! Very fun for kids and adults alike.
