Valentines, Valentines...

The day of hugs, kisses and love is here yet again. Of course, if you're in a relationship the heat may be on to do something special, or at least somewhat memorable. Well don't despair! PDX has many events and venues to choose from to make your Valentines one of a kind. See some some of my favorite picks and links below. Happy Valentines Day!

Le Pigeon

An old favorite in Portland for Valentines Day dinner (or any day of the year for that matter) is Le Pigeon. This French-fared establishment never dissappoints and one look at the menu quickly tells you why. That said, some pretty special stuff is happening on the 14th so you have to be flexible if booking late. Two seatings at 5:30 and 8:30 (at $250 per person) feature a 5-star, multi-course menu that will leave you breathless. See their website and dinner menu

Paley's Place

Yes we've written about Paley's Place before. Needless to say it's a favorite. And, yet again, a great menu is being prepared for this Valentine's Day. The key will be getting a table! Executive Chef Patrick McKee is preparing a wonderful meal featuring scallops a la plancha, spit-roasted duck breast and hazelnut mocha torte. See their website and menus here.

Bar Vivant and Pix Patisserie

Sharing space together at 2225 E Burnside, this powerful duo will serve you and yours well with fantastic, savory tapas at Bar Vivant and wonderful champagne and chocolate at Pix Patisserie. Dinner and desert? Sounds so nice... And get this, in one box of chocolates at Pix Patisserie there will be a pair of white gold stud earrings (14 karat), so be sure to buy one! It might not be Willy Wonka's golden ticket, but it will add a little excitement to your evening. Here again though, prepare to be flexible as the 14th is bound to be busy. See their combo website and menus
